Top 10 Tiny Desk Concerts by Hispanic Artists – Curated by Team OCHO

Let’s be honest, life isn’t always easy. It can be frustrating, unpredictable, and just plain exhausting. But if there’s one thing that always has the power to lift your mood and bring a sense of comfort, it’s good music.

There’s a cozy corner of the internet that always delivers: Tiny Desk Concerts. Created by NPR’s Bob Boilen and Stephen Thompson, the series began in 2008 after a flash of inspiration—they had struggled to hear Laura Gibson perform in a noisy bar and joked that she should play at Boilen’s desk instead. A few days later, they made it happen, recording her performance in NPR’s office and unknowingly launching what would become a beloved institution in live music.

For nearly 15 years, Tiny Desk has provided intimate, stripped-down performances where artists reimagine their songs without flashy production—just raw talent and music. The only rule? Everything has to fit behind the desk. Even during the pandemic, the series adapted, bringing us Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts, where musicians performed from their own spaces while keeping the signature Tiny Desk vibe alive.

Tiny Desk has become a cultural phenomenon, showcasing artists across every genre while celebrating diversity and global sounds. Hispanic artists have played a key role in the series, whether as headliners or as part of NPR’s Hispanic Heritage Month specials.

At OCHO, we’re huge fans of these intimate performances. So, we asked our team to pick their favorite Tiny Desk concerts by Hispanic artists. Here are our top 10.
